Welcome to my new newsletter
I won’t be broadcasting, I’ll be collaborating and supporting my tourism community.
I am setting out to create a new B2b newsletter that can be a space to reflect on our industry, the changes in technology, expectations and how our customers and local visitor economy have responded. What are genuine opportunities, what’s to be nurtured or avoided? Let’s discuss and decide here, or if you wish to explore particular marketing comms expertise, we can also do that.
We all love clarity, and colour
I am aiming for a midweek weekly newsletter, but this may vary depending on what is happening in our industry, in the news and what is in my in-tray.
There is a temptation to talk about all manner of travel and tourism topics, but I will refrain and keep to what I know, what interests me and what is important. For example, during a client meeting on Monday, I added two topics to my editorial list; how to increase engagement on Facebook and what makes a pub a real pub? By coincidence, I went to a pub last night to judge a Sloe Gin competition. In the name of research you understand. I have written about it in my Micro Travels newsletter.
Sometimes you can’t see the wood for the tree’s
I am especially keen to involve this community and if you would like to collaborate, ask questions, seek advice, then please get in touch with ideas and topic suggestions.
We can chat about travel adverts, where are they? What exactly is Substack and how could it be useful. Where are the innovative destinations? What about greenwashing? Blog’s are essential aren’t they? How to be a good neighbour and why TikTok is so divisive. Has this article in fact been written by ChatGBT?
There’s plenty to get our teeth stuck into. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Currently, the content is free for all subscribers, but I will be moving to paid subscriptions where I will be offering more content and specific help with marketing comms, implementation, social media conundrums, communication plans and more in-depth analysis and comment about our industry.
You are receiving this newsletter as we have worked together in the past.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading your first newsletter, lots of great and interesting ideas. Claire
Always good to collaborate - so many moving parts at the moment - together we can do more. Thanks for organising the cause Mary.
