Seasonal Greetings
I get confused: is it Seasonal Greetings. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Merry Holidays or Happy Christmas?
The Christmas tree is up and planning well underway for the arrival of family and friends over the holiday. I can’t wait to put my out-of-office on!
You are never too old
This year has gone by in a flash and I have kept on top of my to-do lists and spreadsheets. I have learnt to use new applications to be creative and present information in more dynamic and appealing ways. I have closed some doors and opened others and have new plans to share with you in 2024.
Sometimes clients let me off the leash. This year, it was Sarah from the Ridgeway National Trail who entrusted me with recording the 50th anniversary of this ancient trackway becoming a protected National Trail. I recorded interviews, filmed bees, a replica Iron Sword being forged and photographed anniversary patron, the broadcaster and author Mary-Ann Ochota. The most stressful of all of this was the official 50th anniversary group photograph that could only be taken at a certain time on a particular day with 50+ guests on a windy hilltop in Buckinghamshire. It all came together perfectly, along with additional grey hairs!
Working from home, I consume a lot of radio with my morning coffee. It keeps me company and gives me suggestions for what energy provider to use, supermarket to shop in, stuff about being resilient in an ever-changing world and far too much fast food to order.
What it doesn’t do, is give me ideas for day’s out, short-break suggestions, time spent with special folk, visits to local hidden gems that I could write about in my Micro Travels with Mary newsletter out include in the new Chilterns Treasures. Digital radio has become highly effective in niche targeting, wouldn’t it be lovely to hear about your places of work in 2024?
Thank you!
I have chosen ‘Merry Christmas’ with a lonesome, underutilised postbox. Despite my best intentions, the real cards I posted won’t in fact reach their recipients as I used out-of-date stamps (I missed the memo about needing to convert these). Trying to be old-school but tripping up on Royal Mails’s new technology.
Thank you for being so collegiate, having a sense of humour, trusting me with your community and sharing this ongoing quest for finding the most appealing ways to communicate with potential customers.
Drop me a line and tell me what you will be up to in in 2024.
